Ripon Building is the seat of the Chennai Corporation (Madras Corporation) in Chennai (Madras), Tamil Nadu. This is a fine example of Indo-Saracenic style of architecture, a combination of three types of architectural styles - Gothic, Ionic and Corinthian. The Ripon Building is white in colour and is located near the Central station in Chennai. Commissioned in 1913, it was built by Loganatha Mudaliar. The Building took four years to build at a cost of 750,000 Rupees. Ripon building was named after Lord Ripon, Governor-General of British India and the Father of local self-government. Earl of Minto, the then Viceroy and Governor General of India laid the foundation on December 12, 1909. The Municipal Corporation of Madras, after functioning from several other places, settled at Ripon building in 1913, with P.L. Moore as the President of the Municipal Corporation at the time of the inauguration.

Tamil Nadu Government Multi-Super-Speciality Hospital is a 400-bed government-owned super-specialty hospital in Chennai, India. It is located at the Omandurar Government Estate on Anna Salai and was opened in February 2014 as a referral hospital, similar to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi, built at a cost of ₹ 1,431.4 million.

Originally built as Tamil Nadu legislative assembly and secretariat complex in 2010 to house the assembly hall, secretariat and offices of the chief minister and cabinet ministers, the complex was later converted into a super-specialty hospital.

DMK's current head office built in 1987 is named as Anna Arivalayam. One of the major roads in Chennai was named in Annadurai honor, Anna Salai--it was previously called Mount Road, and a statue of Annadurai now stands there.

LIC Building is a 15-storied building in Chennai, India, serving as the southern regional headquarters of the Life Insurance Corporation of India. It is the first skyscraper built in Chennai and a famous landmark in the city. Located on the arterial Anna Salai (formerly Mount Road), the building is 177 ft tall. LIC Building was the tallest building in India when it was inaugurated in 1959 and was surpassed by Mumbai's first skyscraper, the Usha Kiran Building, in 1961, which is about 80 m high. The building marked the transition from lime-and-brick construction to concrete columns in the region. The building is known for using a pile foundation technique for the first time in the region. It was the tallest building in Chennai for over 35 years before being surpassed by the Hyatt Regency Building (erstwhile Magunta Oberoi) in Anna Salai and the Arihant Majestic Towers in Koyambedu, both in the mid-1990s.

Anna Flyover (aka Gemini Flyover) (Tamil: அண்ணா மேம்பாலம்) , lies in the heart of Chennai. Opened in 1973, it was the first flyover in the country and in Chennai. Its main purpose is to allow traffic movement on Mount Road — now renamed Anna Salai — near Nungambakkam High Road (Uthamar Gandhi Salai) to continue unhindered by the cross traffic.

It was built on the land originally housing The Gemini Studios (a contemporary of A.V.M.) along with property from the Woodlands Drive-In Restaurant.[citation needed] On two sides of the circle roundabout below the centre of the flyover are two identical statues of a man controlling a horse placed there to commemorate the banning of horse racing.

Anna Flyover is now maintained by Aircel Cellular as a part of Corporate Social Responsibility, they have successfully implemented LED lighting accentuating the parapets of the anna flyover, this kind of LED lighting to beautify a public structure has been implemented for the first time in India by Chennai based Abra Media Networks; TNRIDC, a division of Highways has awarded the contract to Aircel starting from July of 2010.

Anna Flyover has been beautified with other elements such as water fountains, landscaping of its 24,000 square feet (2,200 m2) traffic islands, cove lighting under the traffic movement area, restoration of the horse statue, a toilet for the police personnel, murals depicting social messages, etc.,

Before climbing Anna Flyover (when heading in the direction towards the airport) to the left are the Oxford University Press and the United States Consulate, and to the right one can find the remains of the old Safire Theatre complex.

Gemini studio has been demolished and a shopping complex called Parson Manor and a 5-star deluxe hotel called The Park have sprung up in its place. Opposite to these across the flyover lies the Semmozhi Poonga, the 20-acre, INR80-million botanical garden under construction by the horticultural department.

In a lot of Tamil and Malayalam movies, especially those made in the 1980s and the 1990s, one can surely find a screen shot of the Anna Flyover from the terrace of one of the multi-storeyed buildings in the vicinity. Several song and stunt sequences in movies are filmed on this flyover as well.
