Avadi locality in the western part of the city of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. It is a special grade municipality of Chennai Metropolitan Area. Situated about 24 km West of Chennai Central Railway station it is surrounded by major defense establishments and is a home to various universities and engineering colleges.
